World Record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament will be set by Full Tilt Poker

Posted under internet poker & online poker & poker tournament

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Is Bragging in Texas Hold’Em a Good Idea?

Posted under poker tips & poker tournament & texas holdem

poker bragging
The most insufferable characters at the Texas Hold’em table the majority of times will always be the show-off. You recognize the guy I’m talking of. He’s the guy that sits down at the Texas Hold’em Poker table and makes certain you’re aware that he wants to win all of your no limit Texas Hold’em poker chips; exiting the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table with the very same outlook that he showed-up with. Even if this guy gets killed, he has in his mind that he is the finest no limit Texas Hold’em poker player on the planet.

Though the majority of poker players would preferably keep away from competition of this class, there are those who might argue that shooting off their mouths might have its good points. So, the big question is: Is there really a skillful Texas Hold’em Poker attention-seeker or dishonest poker attention-seeker? Boasting about how skillful you are in poker is basically just like stating: “I’m the best poker player around, always remember to stay on top of things while you’re sitting in a no-limit Texas Hold’em game against me!” Most certainly that is the most terrible vibe to give out playing poker. What’s more, spilling too much information about your no-limit Texas Hold’em playing approach can be unfavorable to your poker game. You positively do not want these individuals to have an idea about how you bet on specific Texas Hold’em hands.

Furthermore there are those Texas Hold’em Poker competitors who might utilize bragging as a style of Texas Hold’em Poker trick, or bluff. Shooting off your mouth when you get a certain poker hand could possibly fool your opponents and baffle them about your poker playing style. There are those who might think that this plan somewhat deceitful, but it is key to not forget that there aren’t any regulations against it in no-limit Texas Hold’em. Poker is all about making use of what you have and utilizing it to the end.
